Are there tariffs on my order?
Yes. From August 29, 2025, all shipments to the United States will be subject to customs duties and formal entry requirements, no matter the order value. This is because U.S. Customs has removed the duty-free threshold for small parcels.

What happened to the $800 ‘de minimis’ allowance?
The old rule that let shipments under US$800 enter duty-free will no longer apply. Every shipment must now clear customs and may attract additional fees.

How are these fees handled?
We’ve simplified the process by collecting U.S. import duties and customs fees upfront at checkout along with your shipping costs. Orders will be shipped Delivered Duties Paid (DDP), which means charges are prepaid and you shouldn’t be asked to pay again on delivery.
In rare cases, U.S. Customs may still apply extra charges, but this should be uncommon.

Do these tariffs apply to pet supplies?
We are monitoring how the new rules will impact pet products and shipping costs. Our website will be updated once we have confirmed details.

Will I need to do anything when my order arrives?
Possibly. U.S. Customs may require extra processing under the new system. If so, we’ll provide clear instructions once carriers confirm the procedures.

Should I be concerned?
We know these changes can be frustrating, but please rest assured that Discount Pet Medication is working hard to keep the process smooth and costs as low as possible. Updates will be shared as soon as we know more.

Can duties and fees be refunded if I return my order?
No. Once shipped, U.S. import duties, customs fees, and shipping charges are non-refundable.
The only exceptions are:

• If your order is cancelled before it is dispatched (you’ll receive a full refund including duties, fees, and shipping), or

• If Discount Pet Medication is at fault—for example, if your parcel is lost or your order is incorrectly packed.
